The New York Strikers emerged triumphant in the seventh edition of the Abu Dhabi T10, securing a seven-wicket victory over the Deccan Gladiators at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.
This victory marked redemption for the Strikers, wiping away the pain of their loss to the Gladiators in the previous edition's final.

The Strikers' captain, Kieron Pollard, and Pakistan's power-hitter, Asif Ali, played pivotal roles in the final, forming an unbeaten 56-run partnership for the fourth wicket in just 29 balls.
Asif Ali remained unbeaten on 48 off 25 balls, showcasing his prowess with four sixes and two boundaries, while Pollard contributed an unconquered 21 off 13 balls, including one boundary and a six. This partnership propelled the Strikers to a seven-wicket win, securing the championship and the accompanying prize money of $100,000.
The New York Strikers, a recent addition to the Abu Dhabi T10 in the last edition, demonstrated commendable performance by reaching the final in both editions and clinching the title in the seventh edition, as highlighted in an Abu Dhabi T10 press release.
On the other hand, the Gladiators, aiming for a hat-trick of title triumphs after winning the previous two editions, had to settle for the runners-up position with a prize of $50,000.
The Gladiators' plans to post a formidable total were thwarted by Sunil Narine, who took two wickets for six runs in his two overs, restricting them to 91 for 5.
This total mirrored the same score that the Strikers were limited to in the previous edition's final, which the Gladiators won by 37 runs. Narine's impactful bowling set the stage for the Strikers' successful chase.
In the final, New York Strikers' skipper Pollard won the toss and elected to bowl. Gladiators' aggressive batter, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, got off to a strong start, hitting boundaries in the first over. However, Narine's mystery spin ended Kohler-Cadmore's innings on an unfortunate 13, hitting the middle stump.
The Gladiators struggled further as George Scrimshaw removed Nicholas Pooran for 15, and Narine claimed another wicket, dismissing Andre Fletcher.
Despite efforts from Imad Wasim and Andre Russell to propel the Gladiators to a competitive total, Muhammad Jawadullah's accurate bowling proved effective. Akeal Hosein, who previously secured a hat-trick, further tightened the Strikers' grip by dismissing Fabian Allen.
Russell fought a lone battle, remaining unbeaten on 30, but the Gladiators fell nine runs short of the 100-run mark, finishing at 91 for 5.
Chasing the target, the Strikers faced early setbacks as Trent Boult removed both openers. However, Asif Ali's explosive batting turned the game in favor of the Strikers. He, along with Pollard, orchestrated a 50-run partnership, guiding the Strikers to victory with four balls to spare.
The New York Strikers showcased resilience and skill, securing a well-deserved championship in the Abu Dhabi T10, while the Gladiators faced disappointment after their hopes for a hat-trick of titles were dashed.
Asif Ali's outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match title, while Akeal Hosein was named the Player of the Tournament for his impressive bowling throughout the competition.
