ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2023: Why Bangladesh A lost against India A?

India A have registered a stellar victory over Bangladesh A and have booked their place in the Final of the Emerging Asia Cup 2023.

The Indian team won the match by 51 runs and will face Pakistan A in the final on Sunday (July 23).

But it was a match which Bangladesh gave away inexplicably. After restricting India A to just 211 runs, the Bangladesh A openers gave them a solid start. Mohammad Naim and Tanzid Hasan stitched a 70-run partnership for the first wicket.

But it all went downhill after they lost the first wicket, as the Bangladeshi side lost their 10 wickets for just 90 runs.

Why Bangladesh A lost the Semi Final against India A?

Here are some reasons why Bangladesh A lost their way in the match-

Poor batting in the middle order

Bangladeshi batters couldn't handle the Indian spinners in the middle overs. But their batters also played made some awful choices for shots. Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan went for shots which were not there and gave their wickets away. Tanzid's wicket was crucial as he was batting on 51, and him getting out at that stage opened the floodgates.

India A spinners' supreme bowling

Indian spinners ran the show with some excellent bowling. Manav Suthar was the one who started it, and then it was Nishant Sindhu show as the left-arm spinner picked up five wickets to break the Bangladeshi backbone. All of 10 wickets were taken by Indian spinners as Nishant Sindhu (5), Manav Suthar (3), Abhishek Sharma (1) and Yuvrajsinh Dodiya (1) all were amongst wickets.

The ball turned and bounced, and having sniffed that, the India A captain Yash Dhull kept on bowling his spinners.

India A were also aided by Yash Dhull's batting, who scored a crucial 66 with the bat. Being 137 for 7 at one stage, Dhull and the lower order added 74 runs in the last three wickets, which proved to be crucial as well.
