After taking an unassailable 2-0 lead by winning a thrilling second ODI on Thursday, Babar Azam's side are aiming for a clean-sweep over Afghanistan ahead of the Asia Cup 2023.
Afghanistan have a lot to be proud of after their stunning show in the second ODI. The side posted a 301-run target against a supremely talented Pakistan bowling unit. They were bundled out for 59 in the first ODI. Both the teams look to do well in their final dress-rehearsal before the Asia Cup which beginds from August 30.

Shadab strikes again! Shahidullah misses the sweep and the umpire raises his finger. No DRS left, Shahidullah has to walk back. He goes for 37 off 65. AFG: 156/8 in39.5 overs.
An unbeaten 50-run partnership between Shahidullah and Mujeeb has brewed off 34 balls for the 8th wicket. A gritty show by the two lower middle-order batter. AFG: 153/7 in 38 overs.
Nabi departs for 3 off 15. Excellent catch by Imam at covers. He leaped forward for the dive and grabbed a stunner. Nawaz gets his first. AFG: 76/6 in 29 overs.
Gulbadin out for a three-ball duck. Agha Salman gets his first wicket. A thick outside edge lands into the gloves of Rizwan. A hint of deviation there. Top job from the off-spinner. AFG: 62/5 in 21.4 overs.
Two wickets for Shadab Khan in the 21st over. Riaz Hassan (34) first and the Shahidi caught at mid-wicket by Imam. Shadab breaks the backbone of Afghanistan in the span of four deliveries. Afghanistan: 61/4 in 21.4 overs.
Hassan and Shahidi have partnered for 22 off 30 balls. Afghanistan are 52/2 after 15 overs. Shadab Khan and Mohammad Wasim are bowling in tandem for Pakistan. This partnership holds a lot of importance for Afghanistan.
Faheem Ashraf has got his second wicket. Ibrahim Zadran departs for an 11-ball duck. A good length delivery and it gets a good bounce off the surface after keeping straight to generate an edge which safely lands into the gloves of Rizwan. Afghanistan: 30/2 in 10 overs.
Afghanistan's hero of 2nd ODI, Rahmanullah Gurbaz who scored 151 off 151, departs for 5 off 15 in the final ODI. Faheem Ashraf strikes in an ODI for the first time after July 2021. Angled in after pitching on off-stump. A review was taken but no luck for Gurbaz. Excellent stuff from the pacer in his first ODI match after two years.
Riaz Hassan has come out to open with Rahmanullah Gurbaz. The two batters have scored 11 runs from the first three overs. Faheem Ashraf and Shaheen Afridi have started the proceedings for Pakistan.
A 269-run target for Afghanistan after a double from Shaheen Afridi on the final delivery of the 50th over. Salman Agha remains unbeaten on 38 off 31. Pakistan were 103/2 at the end of 30 overs. They would be happy with the effort. A 250-plus target has been chases only nine out of 54 times in Colombo. Tough task ahead for Afghanistan but remember, Pakistan are without Naseem and Rauf.
A tad short from Fareed and Faheem tries to clear the boundary on the leg side but a top edge and an easy catch for wicket-keeper Gurbaz.
Length around off and Salman carves it towards deep extra cover for a four. Follows it with a six over mid-wicket. 11 runs including a wide from the first two balls of the 50th over.
A solid knock from Nawaz comes to an end. Caught by Riaz at deep point. He was dropped by Mujeeb on the previous delivery in the same region. Pakistan: 252/7 in 49 overs.
First ball of the 49th over from Farooqi, full and on the off-stump line as Nawaz picks it early and launches it for a six over mid-wicket. Pakistan two short of 250 now. Partnership between Nawaz and Salman 59 off 45 balls now.
An expensive over from Fareed takes Pakistan to 229/6 in 46 overs. Lucky boundary for Salman on the first delivery as his scoop shot almost got caught by short fine leg fielder. The other four on the fourth delivery through the third man region. Nawaz and Salman have partnered for 43 off 33. This could turn out to be a match-winning partnership.
Nawaz looks to clear the square leg boundary on the fourth ball of the 44th over from Farid. The balls goes high up in the air and Riaz fails to grab the difficult chance. Gets his hand but the ball goes past the boundary rope at the end. Pakistan: 207/6 in 44 overs.
Another one gone. Pakistan six down after the fall of Shadab's wicket. Playing on the back foot, fails to read the carrom ball from Mujeeb who cleans his stump. Afghanistan creeping back in the match. Can they bundle out Pakistan? Pakistan: 189/6 in 41 overs.
Three quick wickets for Afghanistan. Rizwan also departs. An angling delivery from Farid hits him on his pad. A review taken but no luck. The ball was just hitting the top of leg stump but umpire's call forces Rizwan to go back to the hut. Another timely wicket for Afghanistan. Pakistan five down for 184.
On a dual-faced and extremely slow surface. Pakistan have done well to post 180 in 39 overs. Anything over 240 would be a match-winning total. Rizwan: 63* off 77, Salman: 0* off 3 balls.
Saud Shakeel works a delivery from Nabi on his leg-side and sets off for a single straightaway but Rizwan declines. Wicket-keeper Gurbaz by then reaches to the ball and dismantles the stumps with a direct hit. Saud Shakeel is well short of the crease. Shakeel could have been handy against spin but an unlucky departure for him.
In the zone from Mujeeb and Rizwan slog sweeps this one over mid-wicket for a massive six.
Babar departs of 60 off 86 deliveries. The 110-rn partnership between Babar and Rizwan comes to an end. Babar was waiting on the back foot to play the delivery from Rashid Khan fine but the ball turns slightly and and edge lands into the gloves of Gurbaz who was standing close to the stumps.
A 100-run partnership between Babar and Rizwan off 139 deliveries. on a slow and dual-paced batting surface, the two right-handers have shown a lot of patience. With 14 overs left, they would look to accelerate from here.

Rashid Khan to Rizwan and the ball hits his arm as he misses the sweep. A loud appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Rizwan takes his time and then reviews the decision. Replays show the ball going over the off-stump. Rashid looks surprised but Rizwan survives. Pakistan: 72/1 in 20 overs.
Second one for Gulbadin, Imam goes for 13 off 30. He was struggling for runs and decides to hit one hard but a thick edge lands into the gloves of Gurbaz. Imam was solid in the first two matches but failed to get going this time. Gulbadin has got both the openers.
Gulbadin strikes in his first over. Zaman miscues one while trying to come down the ground and go over in-field. The ball ballooned up after hitting toe-end of bat. Easy catch for Riaz Hassan. Zaman goes for 27, another start wasted.
