Afghanistan has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming one-off Test match against Bangladesh.
The Test match will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka and starts from June 14. The Afghan cricket board announced their team for the match on Wednesday (June 7) and two key players have missed out from the squad.

Rashid Khan, their premier leg-spinner won't take any part in the match. The Afghan sensation suffered an injury which kept him out of the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka. It seems the player isn't fit yet from his injury issue. Another player whose name is also missing is Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
Hashmatullah Shahidi is set to captain them in the Test match whereas players like Naveen Ul Haq, and Mohammed Nabi are also not a part of the squad. KKR wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz has also not been considered for selection, so is LSG bowler Naveen Ul Haq.
They have also announced four players as standby for the match, who are Noor Ali, Zia Akbar, Azmat Omarzai and Sayed Shirzad.

Afghanistan are one of the newest nations to have got Test playing status. They played their first-ever Test match against India in 2018. So far the Asian nation has only played 6 Tests, winning three of them.
This will also be Afghanistan's second Test clash against Bangladesh. These two teams locked horns back in 2019 in another one-off Test match, and the Afghans came away victorious in that match. They won the match by a mammoth margin of 224 runs and Rashid Khan picked up 11 wickets in that match.
