Diwali is a festival which is celebrated nationwide. And on the eve of Diwali, the holy festival of India, an Afghanistan player has won a billion hearts with his philanthropic deeds.
Ahead of Afghanistan's final group stage match against South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Afghan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz's silent donation across the streets of Ahmedabad has gone viral.

Gurbaz took to the streets of Ahmedabad late at night (3 am) and distributed cash to the needy for the auspicious Diwali. And after giving the money, the Afghan player left silently without making any fuss.
But a passerby captured the benevolent work of Gurbaz and the video has since gone viral on social media. Millions of people have hailed Gurbaz for his compassion and fans have praised his act.
The 21-year-old has had a magnificent World Cup 2023 campaign, scoring 280 runs in the tournament. The Afghan batter scored 2 fifties, which came against England and Pakistan. Despite having a fine start, Gurbaz failed in the latter phase of group stages as he managed only 56 runs in the last four matches.
Afghanistan also had a fantastic campaign, finishing 6th in the table. The Afghans won four matches in this World Cup edition, which included victories over England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. They failed to make it to the semifinals but their impressive outing has won a lot of hearts.
