Afghanistan's Performance At ICC Champions Trophy

The Afghans will be making their debut in the ICC Champions Trophy for the first-time ever. From 2004 to 2017, they didn't manage to qualify and now finally they'll be taking on the big guns in order to be called 'Champions of Champions'. Since it will be a 50-over tournament, Afghanistan have shown steady progress in their ODI World Cup campaigns since their debut in 2015. In the 2015 edition held in Australia and New Zealand, they secured their first win in six matches under Mohammad Nabi's captaincy. The 2019 World Cup in England saw them struggle, ending without a win in nine games, led by Gulbadin Naib. However, their performance improved significantly in the 2023 World Cup in India, where they achieved four wins in nine matches under Hashmatullah Shahidi, including victories over top teams. Afghanistan's journey highlights their growing competitiveness and potential in international cricket's biggest stage.
