Afghanistan clinched victory in their Twenty20 series with Zimbabwe with a 17-run win in Sharjah on Tuesday.

Mohammad Nabi stars again for Afghanistan

Sharjah, February 7: Afghanistan sealed victory in their Twenty20 series with Zimbabwe with a 17-run win in Sharjah on Tuesday (February 6).

Having prevailed by five wickets in the first game of the two-match series, Afghanistan wrapped things up thanks in part to a 26-ball 45 from Mohammad Nabi.

Scorecard; 1st T20i report

Nabi – who scored 40 in the first match – struck four sixes and his efforts, along with those of captain Asghar Stanikzai (27 off 14) and Najibullah Zadran (24 off 18) helped them to 158-9.

Zimbabwe lost Solomon Mire (2) in the third over of their reply and were unable to match Afghanistan's run rate of 7.9.

Sikandar Raza struck 40 off 26 and Ryan Burl added 30 from as many deliveries, but they were both removed by teenage spinner Rashid Khan (2-23) as Zimbabwe's chase lost momentum.

Afghanistan will now look to maintain their form in a five-match one-day series, which starts on Friday (February 9).
