Afghanistan vs New Zealand one-off Test: Afghanistan and New Zealand are all set to lock horns in the one-off Test to be held at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground, Greater Noida, India from Monday, September 9.

It's the first Test match between the two sides, and also the first Test match at the venue. The last international match held here was in March 2020 when Afghanistan took on Ireland in a T20I match.

New Zealand have lost their last two Test matches against Australia and would be taking the opportunity to gear up for the upcoming challenges in the subcontinent conditions. They are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka later this month for a 2-Test series before returning back to play three Test matches against India.

Afghanistan, on the other hand, have lost each of their last three Test matches against Ireland, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, respectively. Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi has reckoned that his team should benefit by playing in familiar conditions of Noida where they have practiced in the past, and sort of is a home ground for them.

The Afghanistan vs New Zealand Test match tickets can be bought for free by fans. It has been reported that ticket counters have been set in various locations across Greater Noida, and Noida. Counters for free tickets have also been outside the stadium as well.

The reports also added that fans can do an online registration to watch the New Zealand vs Afghanistan match for free in Noida. However, the details are still unknown. There is no information available on the ACB or BCCI website.

However, the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority which runs the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium (Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground), has rolled out a post, and invited to watch the Test match.

"Gear up for an exciting International Test Match at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium from September 9-13, 2024,where Afghanistan will face off against New Zealand in their first-ever Test match encounter. Hosted in the heart of #GNIDA,a historic showdown you won’t want to miss," they wrote on X.

Further, reports have also revealed that gates will open at 8 AM for the fans, with teams arriving by 9 AM and the toss at 9:30 AM.
