Pathans and Bengalis can become world's best if they channelize things properly, says Shoaib Akhtar

Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar hailed Afghanistan for their amazing T20I series win against Pakistan.

Afghanistan recorded their first-ever series victory against Pakistan in the ongoing T20I series in the UAE. The Afghans, led by Rashid Khan, have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series and are eyeing a clean sweep.

They restricted Pakistan below 100 in the first match and chased it down with ease. In the second match, the Pakistanis could only manage 131 and the so-called minnows chased it down with a ball to spare.

And talking about the fantastic achievement of the neighbours, Shoaib Akhtar congratulated the Afghanistan players and hailed them for their determination and fighting spirit, stating they can be one of the best sides in the World Cup later this year.

"Afghanistan is a formidable side. Their spinners are great. Mohammad Nabi bowled well. All of their spinners are mysterious. With these mystery spinners, Afghanistan is going to be one of the best teams in the World Cup to be held in India. I am very happy," Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.

The Pakistan legend then went on to say Pathanis and Bengalis are the most determined people in the world and they can become the best if they channelize their energy properly.

"If Pathans and Bengalis channelise their energy, they can become world's leading communities. Because both have extremism in them. If extremism can be channelised positively, with maturity, they can become world's best community. I am very happy that our Pathan brothers have won," Akhtar added.

He also provided some much-needed support to Pakistan's young captain Shadab Khan, who has been leading the team in absence of Babar Azam.

"Shadab, please don't lose your heart. You are a very good captain, make sure of a come back and give Afghanistan a tough challenge," the former Pakistan player said.

Pakistan will be locking horns against Afghanistan in the final T20I match on Monday (March 27).
