After Galle Test win, Virat Kohli is 'chilling by the pool'

Galle, July 30: After wrapping up the opening Test against Sri Lanka by a mammoth 304-run margin, Virat Kohli and his team-mates are enjoying their time in the island nation.

On Saturday (July 29), India took a 1-0 lead in the 3-Test rubber in Galle. Kohli described the win as "more special" since the pitch did not offer much to the bowlers.

With the next Test starting on Thursday (August 3) in Colombo, Kohli and his team-mates had time to relax with the first Test ending in 4 days.

Kohli took to the micro-blogging website Twitter to post pictures of himself with KL Rahul at a swimming pool. He captioned them, "Chilling by the pool. Good times. ✌️ @klrahul11."

All-rounder Hardik Pandya, who made his Test debut in Galle, also tweeted a picture and wrote, "Fun times in the sun with these boys! @imVkohli @klrahul11."

Rahul too posted pictues and wrote, "When skipper says #selfie you pout and ✌. #chillday by the beach 🏊‍♂️🤽‍♂️ #galle @imVkohli."

Opening batsman Rahul missed the Galle Test due to viral fever. He did not travel with the team from Colombo and joined them later.

The Karnataka right-hander is fit and is likely to play the 2nd Test. With his replacement Abhinav Mukund scoring 81 in the 2nd innings, Kohli described the selection issue as "massive headache".

"I think it is a massive headache, but a good one to have. At most, only 3 openers make the squad. It is good to have guys scoring rather than guys not scoring consistently. I think the guys will understand how the dynamics of the team work," the skipper said.

Kohli hit an unbeaten 103 while Shikhar Dhawan (190) and Cheteshwar Pujara (153) too notched up big hundreds.
