Ajinkya Rahane's post after India's defeat against South Africa goes viral, fans decode his message

Ajinkya Rahane's social media post after India's crushing innings and 32-run defeat against South Africa has gone viral. India were humbled by South Africa and bundled out for 131 in the second innings on Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test match at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.

The India batting unit crumbled in front of South African quicks who put on a tenacious show on the uneven centurion surface. The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Shreyas failed to counter the South Africa conditions.

As the Indian batting suffered, social media was abuzz with chatter around Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara. It was the first instance in over one decade that India was playing a Test match either of the two stalwart batters.

Rahane, who was part of the WTC final against Australia in June, was dropped for the series. The new-look middle-order has got Shreyas Iyer batting at number five and KL Rahul at six. Rahul did his job, but Iyer fumbled.

Now, the Mumbai batters three-word post with his video showing him sweating out hard in the nets has gone viral. Notably, the Ranji Trophy 2024 season is approaching and India will be locking horns in a 5-Test series against England starting January 25. Fans have reckoned that the right-hander is eyeing yet another comeback in the Indian Test side.

However, Rahane's comeback looks unlikely as selectors are looking for the next generation of India Test batters. With the next WTC final in 2025, new players are set to get a longer run in the format.
