Akash Deep had not been part of KKR's preparatory camp leading into the new season, instead continuing his recovery at the Board of Control for Cricket in India Centre of Excellence.

With his rehabilitation extending longer than expected, the franchise confirmed that the pacer will miss the entire IPL 2026 season, leaving a noticeable gap in their Indian pace resources.

The timing of the injury could not be worse for KKR, who are already dealing with multiple fast-bowling concerns ahead of the new campaign.
