Aleem Dar's goof-up: What Twitterati said

Melbourne, March 19: Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar found himself in the middle of a controversy after he called a genuine delivery bowled by Rubel Hossain to Indian batsmen Rohit Sharma as 'no' citing its height. Sharma, who was batting at 90 then, mistimed the ball and the catch was taken at deep mid-wicket.

But television replays showed the delivery was within the normal range and Sharma's dismissal was genuine. The Indian batsman then went on to score 137 off 126 balls and help India post a big score of 302/6 in 50 overs.

The two Asian sides are playing in the second quarter-final of the ICC World Cup 2015. Indian captain won the toss and elected to bat first.

Dar's decision was slammed by former cricketing stars like VVS Laxman and Shane Warne and Twitter also went abuzz with reactions over the incident.
