All India Moinuddowlah Gold Cup cricket from Sept 2
Hyderabad, Aug 29 (UNI) As many as 18 teams from across the country will take part in the 77th All India Moin-ud-dowlah Gold Cup invitation cricket tournament, to be held here from September 2 to 20.
Announcing this to reporters here, Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Vice-President M V Sridhar said ''with a view to give more first class cricket exposure to young talent, we are continuing the tradition of three-day cricket with 90 overs in the first innings and 40 overs in the second innings per side.'' Teams taking part in the tournament were Hyderabad, Jharkhand, MPCA, Goa, BSNL, HCA combined districts, Railways, IOCL, Kerala, Saurashtra, HCA Presidents XI, Vidarbha, Bengal, Assam, KSCA, UCA, Tripura and TNCA.
While 14 teams got bye, Railways, IOCL, HCA Presidents XI and Vidarbha would play in the first round matches, beginning on September two.
Interestingly, Tamil Nadu was sending just an official team as against its usual three or four teams.
