Pakistan has put itself in a spot of bother in the T20 World Cup 2024. The Asian giants are likely to be eliminated from the group stages.
Babar Azam and co. lost their first two matches of the campaign. They lost at the hands of the USA in Super Over, followed by a disappointing defeat against India.

Although Pakistan is still in it, the USA vs Ireland match result has to go their way to ensure qualification. Also, the weather in Florida hasn't been encouraging for their chances. The potential flood and incessant rain have dented their chances as any washout will eliminate Pakistan from the tournament.
But former India pacer Sreesanth already has counted out Pakistan from the race and believes USA will be the team joining India in the Super Eight stages.
"I don't think Pakistan is following the needed routine. They don't focus on their domestic leagues. All of their legends, like Wasim Akram and even Waqar Younis, say they need to change the entire system. So that says where they are going wrong. I will only say this to Pakistan all the best for the next World Cup. If they come back from this position, it will be a miracle. I don't think it will be easy," Sreesanth was quoted as saying to ANI.
USA has been a revelation in this tournament. They beat Canada and Pakistan, then also put up a valiant fight against India as well. Players like Saurabh Netravalkar, Nitish Kumar and co. have made a positive impact in this tournament, which has in turn been a magnificent advertisement for the game in the country. And the former India pacer hailed the co-hosts and thinks they deserve to be where they are at the moment.
"One of the things about T20 World Cup is every team looks strong on paper. If we talk about planning and execution, the USA team prevailed because of their planning and execution in the past two years and they have worked hard. I want the USA team to play in the Top 8 because they deserve it. They have done more than enough justice to be a part of the Top 8," Sreesanth added.
