Powered by Hawk-Eye Innovations, the league will offer high-tech features like auto no-ball detection, DRS, real-time replays, and innings timers. The PCB appointed 13 umpires and 7 referees, including ICC Elite Panel members.
The PSL 2025 logo was unveiled on February 4 with the theme “HBL PSL X.” The official anthem, "X Dekho", released on April 2. The Luminara Trophy, revealed on March 13, features over 22,850 zircon stones and will tour nationwide before the season begins.
Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen criticized the PCB for branding PSL 2025 as the “best ever” without offering any substantial changes. In a podcast, Tareen voiced concerns over the league's stagnation, urging the board to introduce meaningful innovations rather than hollow marketing claims.
South African pacer Corbin Bosch withdrew from PSL 2025 despite being picked by Peshawar Zalmi. His decision to join Mumbai Indians in the IPL led the PCB to initiate legal action for breach of contract, stirring debate over player commitments amid overlapping IPL-PSL schedules.
A promotional video by Multan Sultans used a clip of Indian captain Rohit Sharma's old press conference, triggering backlash from Indian fans. The move was seen as disrespectful, prompting accusations of poor sportsmanship and social media outrage.
PSL 2025 is not just the end of a decade-long journey—it’s also a turning point. With this being the final edition under the six-team, HBL-sponsored structure, the PCB plans to expand to eight teams starting next year. Amid heated debates, flashy announcements, and fan excitement, one thing remains clear—cricket fever in Pakistan is only just heating up.
