Aman Mokhade etched his name in Vijay Hazare Trophy history as only the third batter to score 800+ runs in a single season. The Vidarbha opener achieved this feat with 814 runs in the 2025-26 edition.

Mokhade joined an elite club previously featuring Prithvi Shaw, who scored 827 runs for Mumbai in the 2020/21 season, and Narayan Jagadeesan, who amassed 830 runs for Tamil Nadu in 2022-23. Shaw became the first to cross 800 runs, setting the benchmark in Mumbai's title-winning campaign.

In the final against Saurashtra, Mokhade scored 33 runs off 45 balls before dismissal, securing his 800+ tally as Vidarbha beat Saurashtra to win their maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy title.

"I always had the belief that I would win games for my team and that belief kept me going. There's a lot of competition in our team, I had to wait for my opportunity, I had to channelise that frustration on the field and the results are there to see," he said after the stellar performance.
