Ambati Rayudu leaves CPL team after just three matches - Reasons Revealed

India batter Ambat Rayudu has ended his stint with Caribbean Premier League side St Kitts and Nevis Patriots after just three matches.

Rayudu became only the 2nd Indian player to participate in CPL, after Pravin Tambe, but his time at the Caribbean has been cut short. Rayudu joined the Patriots as a marquee player but had a disappointing outing.

Rayudu managed only 47 runs in his three innings for the Patriots. He was out for a duck on his debut, and then scored 32 and 15 respectively. The batter finishes the CPL edition with a modest average of 15.66 and a strike rate of 117.50.

Why Ambati Rayudu leaves CPL?

Ambati Rayudu has left CPL citing personal reasons. Although the exact reason is not revealed, it can be an array of causes. The Indian player recently joined politics after announcing retirement from IPL. He was part of the IPL 2023 winning Chennai Super Kings team as the MS Dhoni-led side won their 5th IPL title.

Blessing Muzarabani also leaves Patriots

Blessing Muzarabani has also left along with Rayudu citing personal reasons. The Zimbabwe pacer has played three matches but could only manage 1 wicket with a high economy beyond 10.

Patriots are struggling in the CPL this season. They are the only team in the CPL yet to win a match this season. Their first two matches were washed out, and then the Evin Lewis-led side has lost the next four matches.

The Patriots have also replaced Rayudu and Muzarabani as England duo Benny Howell and Will Smeed have been roped in.
