Veteran Indian cricketer Amit Mishra has come out strongly against certain media reports that wrongly associated him with a domestic abuse and dowry harassment case.
The 41-year-old former spinner, known for his stellar contributions to Indian cricket, took to social media platform X to voice his outrage over the use of his photograph in connection with a case he claims has no relevance to him.

"I'm extremely disappointed by what's being circulated in the media. I've always respected the press, but while the news itself may be accurate, the photograph used is mine-which is completely incorrect. Using my image for unrelated stories must stop immediately, or I will be forced to take legal action," Mishra stated in his post.
The controversy erupted after some news outlets published reports about a dowry harassment case, alleging that the cricketer's family had demanded ₹10 lakh and a car during a wedding ceremony. These reports also claimed the complainant had sought ₹1 crore in compensation. However, Mishra has denied any involvement, making it clear that he has nothing to do with the case and is considering legal recourse against the publications responsible for the misinformation.
Mishra emphasized that such irresponsible reporting not only tarnishes his public image but also causes emotional and mental distress. Known for maintaining a clean reputation throughout his long cricketing career, the spinner is determined to clear his name.
Amit Mishra has been a significant figure in Indian cricket. With 76 wickets in Tests, 64 in ODIs, and 16 in T20Is, his international career reflects consistency and class.
