London, Aug.18 (ANI): Fast bowler James Anderson and his England pals are desperate to give all rounder Andrew Flintoff the ultimate farewell - an Ashes victory.
Flintoff is fit again, after his chronic knee injury kept him out of the Fourth Test defeat at Headingley, and all set for his last hurrah.
"The team would like to give Fred something special to go out with. We want to win regardless, of course, but it would be fantastic if Fred could depart on a high," The Sun quoted Anderson, as saying.
"Having him back will help our chances of winning the game and give him the opportunity to script his farewell. After the Test career he has had, that's what he deserves, " he added.
He believes Flintoff's contribution to the game is more about his personality around the dressing room and intimidating bowling spells.
To recapture the little urn, England must turn around their shocking defeat inside 21/2 days at Headingley.
"If we can find our form from Lord's and Edgbaston, we've a great chance of winning The Ashes," Anderson said. (ANI)
