Rayalaseema Kings defeated holder Coastal Riders by 5 wickets in the truncated final on Sunday (August 27) to be crowned the champions of Andhra Premier League (APL), a T20 tournament organized by Andhra Cricket Association (ACA).

After restricting the defending champions Riders to 155/8 in 18 overs, skipper Hanuma Vihari and Bodhala Kumar shared a 78-run stand to guide the Kings to victory with 9 balls to spare at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Kumar smashed a 23-ball 53, while Vihari remained unbeaten on 46 off 29 balls to see his side home along with Girinath Reddy, who also contributed with an unbeaten 17-ball 29. For Riders, Cheepurapalli Stephen and S Ashish claimed two wickets each.

Earlier put into bat first in the final, Maddila Vardhan smashed 50 off 32 balls to take Riders to a challenging total after they had lost the top three for 63 in 7.4 overs. SK Kamaruddin was the pick of the bowlers for Kings with figures of 3 for 33. Here is a look at the stats, awards and records.
