Anil Kumble Issues Official Statement, Denies 'Fabricated Quotes' On Virat Kohli And Rohit Sharma

Anil Kumble, former India coach and legendary spinner has distanced himself from social media posts falsely attributed to him about the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia.

Addressing the misinformation, Kumble shared on 'X' that he had not made any such statements, despite posts circulating with his photo.

The 54-year-old didn't take anybody's name but eagle-eyed fans were quick to find out that the fake posts circulating under his name was on both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Here's a look at the tweet.

''It has come to my attention that some social media accounts are using my image and attributing fabricated quotes to me. I want to categorically deny any association with these accounts and their content. The statements being circulated are not my views and do not reflect my opinions in any way'', Kumble wrote.

''I urge everyone to be vigilant and not believe everything they see on social media. Please verify the authenticity of any information before sharing it. My official social media channels are the only reliable source for my views and statements'', he further added.

From the fake posts, it has been found that the former India coach questioned Rohit Sharma's captaincy and Virat's form.

As per the fake quote, Kumble slammed Kohli to be a 'walking wicket'.

On the other hand, as per a different quote he lashed out at Rohit for his 'disgraceful' captaincy.

On the flipside of all these fakeness, reality is both Virat and Rohit is not at the best of their forms and have failed miserably in the ongoing 3rd Test between between India and Australia.

Rohit scored 10 runs, while Kohli managed to get only 3 and have enraged the netizens all over social media. At the fag end of their careers, the fans feel it's high-time, the senior superstars make way for other youngsters and retire from the longest format of the game.
