The third season of Andhra Premier League - APL 2024 is down to two teams as Uttarandhra Lions will lock horns with Vizag Warriors in the title clash at the Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Saturday (July 13).
Gulfaam Saleh-led Uttarandhra Lions, who finished top of the points table, defeated second-placed Rayalaseema Kings by 6-wickets in the Qualifier 1 to earn a direct entry into the summit clash.

KS Bharat’s Vizag Warriors, who finished third in the standings, first got past fourth-placed Coastal Riders by 8 wickets in Eliminator 1, and then defeated Rayalaseems Kings by 7 runs in Qualifier 2 to reach the final.
While the two sides prepare to clash for the title in season 3 of APL, here is a look at their previous record and their final appearances in the Andhra Premier League so far:
Vizag Warriors have never won the Andhra Premier League title so far nor have they made it to the final in the previous two editions. This is their best ever season, having finished fifth in the inaugural edition and sixth in the last edition.
Uttarandhra Lions also like Vizag Warriors, has never reached the title clash earlier, but they have finished in the top four in all their three attempts so far. In 2022, the Lions lost the Eliminator against Kings, and in 2023, they lost the Eliminator to Godavari Titans.
In the previous two editions, Coastal Riders and Rayalaseema Kings emerged the champions. While the Riders won the inaugural edition in 2022, the King clinched the title last season.
Coastal Riders is the most successful side, having reached the summit clash twice in the three seasons, while Vizag Warrior and Uttarandhra Lions join Rayalaseema Kings and Bezawada Tigers as the other finalists.
