APL 2026 Auction: 275 Players Shortlisted, 20 Marquee Stars Set for Assam Premier League Player Auction

The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has unveiled the players' pool for the much-awaited inaugural edition of the Assam Premier League (APL) 2026.

A total of 275 players have been shortlisted from the registered applicants. The pool includes 20 marquee players drawn from Assam's senior domestic circuit and over 250 players in the general category. All players will enter the APL Player Auction, where franchises will compete to build their squads for the league's debut season.

Assam Premier League Marquee Players

The marquee list is headlined by experienced campaigners who have represented Assam in BCCI domestic tournaments. Leading the batting and all-round options are Denish Das, Sibsankar Roy, Sumit Kashyap, Swarupam Purkayastha, and Jitumoni Kalita. The bowling attack is spearheaded by Mrinmoy Dutta, Muktar Hussain, Avinav Choudhary, Rahul Singh, Sadak Hussain, and Bhargab Pratim Lakhar.

Additional batting depth comes from Saahil Jain, Pradyun Saikia, and Saurav Mousum Dihingia, while Abdul Ajij Kuraishi, Akash Sengupta, and Ayushman Malakar add all-round utility. The wicket-keeping contingent comprises Sumit Ghadigaonkar, Rohit Sen, and Ruhinandan Pegu.

The APL Player Auction is scheduled for 19th July 2026 at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. The league aims to provide a high-visibility platform for Assam's cricketers, offering them the opportunity to impress selectors ahead of the upcoming BCCI domestic season.
