Approach to Indian shooting has changed: Rahi Sarnobat

Glasgow, July 27: Upbeat after winning the women's 25-metre pistol gold at the Commonwealth Games, Rani Sarnobat Saturday said the success of the Indian shooters in the international arena is due to better training venues and good coaches.

"The approach of India to shooting has changed - we have Olympic medals as well as Commonwealth medals. We train in better venues, (have) good coaches and I think that reflects in our shooting," said 23-year-old Rahi.

She also expressed her happiness over compatriot Anisa Sayyed bagging the silver from the same event.

"In the last Commonwealth Games she (Sayyed) had the gold and I got silver, so this time it's the other way around and it's even nicer that both the medals went to India," she added.

Indian shooters have so far ruled the ranges claiming seven medals - three gold and four silvers - from the ongoing competition. On Saturday itself, they won five medals form the discipline.
