Arrest warrant issued against ex-Cricketer Azharuddin

New Delhi, Mar 1: A Delhi Court on Thursday, Mar 1 issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against the former Cricketer and Congress MP - Mohammad Azharuddin. The court issued the non-bailable warrant against him (Azhar) as a cheque allegedly given by the former Team India captain bounced.

Azharuddin might be arrested at any time and may land in a major trouble as the court issued a non-bailable warrant, informed sources. Here it can be recalled that similar kind of situation occurred when Azharuddin along with state Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi and many other leaders have been booked during an election campaign for assembly polls 2012 in Uttar Pradesh.

Azharuddin along with three other people has been accused of violating model code of conduct during the election campaign in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. The Congress leaders have been accused of getting their chopper landed in the area without taking prior permission from the district authorities.

Kartar Singh Bhadana, the RLD candidate from Khatauli constituency of the district was one of the four members who experienced the wrath of the election commission. [Read more about UP Polls 2012]
