After a triumphant night at the Narendra Modi Stadium, India emerged as the T20 World Cup Champions as they mauled New Zealand.
Suryakumar Yadav and his men secured a comprehensive victory by 96 runs to win their third T20 title, thus becoming the first team to defend the T20 crown.

On the night, Indian batting stood tall courtesy of Sanju Samson, who massacred the Kiwi bowling for another stellar 89. Abhishek Sharma also roared back to form with a fifty, while Ishan Kishan did the same. India's massive 255 was too much for the Kiwis, who bundled out for just 159 runs. Jasprit Bumrah was the star of the show with 4 wickets.
It was a decent bowling display from the Indian team in this entire tournament and Arshdeep Singh has been a key part of it. The left-arm pacer bowled four decent overs in the final, although going wicketless, he kept things tight.
The 27-year-old ended the T20 World Cup with 9 wickets to his name. The punjab pacer is also among the few who have now won the T20 crown in consecutive editions. And as MyKhel caught up with Arshdeep's coach Jaswant Rai, he was elated.
"I am extremely happy for him. Winning two World Cups back-to-back is not easy, and team India has done it. The biggest trait Arshdeep has developed is bowling slower yorkers. Jasprit Bumrah is the master of it, but Arshdeep has tried to improve his as well. He worked on his discipline and has done well," Rai said to this website in an exclusive chat.
The coach also advises his disciple to keep himself fit, as a host of assignments are on the horizon.
"I think longevity and consistency are key. You have to be fit enough to continue playing at the highest level. My message to Arshdeep will be to keep himself fit and keep his head calm."
When speaking about the biggest bowling trait of Arshdeep, the coach describes the calmness which personifies the India pacer under pressure. The Punjab-born has bowled amid extreme pressure and has delivered on most of the occasions. And the coach, who already congratulated his student and got a warm reply, is quick to admit the mental steel.
"He came to me at the age of 14, and since then, I have seen him enjoying pressure. You must have seen that in all the pressure games, he has performed. He enjoys tough situations the most. I think that is why he is so effective. He knows how to handle pressure."
