Arun Jaitley Stadium Stats and Records: Explore ODI Statistics of ICC World Cup 2023 Venue in Delhi

Arun Jaitley Stadium Stats and Records: The venue in Delhi, which is also known as Feroz Shah Kotla, hosted the fourth match of the ICC World Cup 2023 between South Africa and Sri Lanka on double-header Saturday (October 7).

Apart from South Africa vs Sri Lanka, the historic venue, which is located in the country's capital, also hosted a total of five matches including India vs Afghanistan, England vs Afghanistan & Australia vs Netherlands, while Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka will also be held later.

The venue is famously known for Anil Kumble's ten-wicket haul in a Test against Pakistan. Plus, Sachin Tendulkar also broke Sunil Gavaskar's record for most Test centuries when he brought up his 35th ton in a 2005 match against Sri Lanka at the Kotla.

The Arun Jaitley stadium formerly had the reputation of producing slow pitches but, following a renovation of the square, the pace has picked up with totals to match, producing some great matches.

This will not be the first time that the venue will play hosts to matches in the 50-over show-piece tournament. Arun Jaitley Stadium has so far hosted 6 ODI World Cup matches - 1 each in 1987 and 1996 followed by 4 in 2011. In 1987, India beat Australia by 56 runs.

In 1996, Sri Lanka beat Indian by 6 wickets. In 2011, South Africa beat West Indies by 7 wickets in the first match, while West Indies beat Netherlands by 215 runs before Canada beat Kenya by 5 wickets, and India beat Netherlands by 5 wickets in the final match.

In 2023, South Africa beat Sri Lanka by 102 runs before India beat Afghanistan by 8 wickets, while the Afghans stunned England by 69 runs, and Australia thumped Netherlands by 309 runs. Here is a look at the ODI statistics and record of the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi:
