Ashes 2023, 4th Test: Old Trafford Manchester Weather Today Ahead of Day 5

Marnus Labuschagne-Mitchell Marsh stand and rain frustrated England as Australia reduced deficit on a rain-hit day 4 of the fourth Test in Ashes 2023 at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on Saturday (July 22).

After a near four-hour delayed start on day 4 that saw the first session being washed, Labuschagne (111) scored his first hundred since December 2022 and shared a 103-run partnership with Marsh (31*) to take Australia to 214/5 at stumps on the penultimate day, trailing by 61 runs.

Old Trafford in Manchester may be set for another rainy day on day 5 of Ashes 4th Test

Joe Root claimed the only wicket on the day as Marsh and Cameron Green remained unbeaten before the final session was also washed out. Now, the two Australian all rounders will look to further frustrate England when they walk out to bat on day 5.

We had an uninterrupted day in terms of stoppages due to weather at Old Trafford on days 1 and 2. But on day 3 we saw some delay due to showers and on day 4 rain played spoilsport. There is also prediction for rain on the final day of the penultimate Test as England look to level the series.

Ben Stokes and Co, on the other hand, will hope they get time to get five more Australian wickets without having to chase down much as England aim to keep the Ashes alive by levelling the series, which they currently trail 1-2.

So, will we see a full day's play in Manchester on day 5 (Sunday, July 23)? Will the weather interrupt proceedings on Day 5 of the 4th Test? With England witnessing rains this summer, here we take a look at the Manchester weather forecast on Sunday (July 23):
