Ben Stokes on Friday joined the elite company of Sir Garfield Sobers, Ian Botham and Jacques Kallis after grabbing the catch of England wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey to become only the fourth player in the history of Test cricket to score 5000 runs, take 150 wickets and 100 catches.
The 32-year-old captain of the England Test team has 6075 runs, 197 wickets and 100 catches in the red-ball format. Former West Indies captain Sobers scored 8032 runs, picked 235 wickets and grabbed 109 catches during his stellar career.

Former England captain Botham scored 5200 runs, picked 383 wickets and 120 catches in the longest format of the game. South Africa legend Kallis, considered as the greatest all-rounder to have played the sport, piled up 13289 runs and picked as many as 292 wickets. He also completed a double century of catches.

In the ongoing Ashes 2023, Stokes picked three wickets in the first two Tests before opting not to bowl due to fitness concerns. The southpaw has also scored 363 runs including a hundred and two fifties in 8 innings at an average of 45.38.

Australia, who are leading the series 2-1, have already retained the Ashes trophy after the rain-marred fourth Test in Manchester ended in a draw. Stokes has already expressed his desire to win the Ashes 2025 in Australia.
