Ashes 2023: Rain washed out majority of Day 3 final session on Friday as Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja went back unbeaten at an overnight score of 58 and six not out.
The weather provided England, who are trailing by 221 runs in the second innings, a reprieve on Day 3. But Australia would look to consolidate their position in the match by posting a target in excess of 400 runs on Day 4 of the ongoing second Test match at Lord’s in London. The visitors have eight wickets in hand and the job for them should be simple.

England are almost out of the game and they would need the rain God to interfere. However, the weather forecast for Ashes 2023 second Test Day 4 does not look in their favour.
It will rain until seven in the morning as the precipitation level will be close to 50 percent. But no rain has been forecasted for the remainder of the day. The precipitation level would drop below 25 percent and partial sunshine has also been predicted in the afternoon.
The temperature in London would hover around 22-24 degree celsius in London during the playing hours on Saturday and the wind speed would be somewhere around 20-24 km/h.
Australia look set to move strongly towards a 2-0 lead on rain-free Day 4. The side scored 416 runs in the first innings before bundling out hosts England for 325 in second innings. At the end of Day 3, Australia had lost two wickets for 130 runs.
