Australia has announced a 15-member squad for the highly anticipated 2025 Ashes series first Test against England, scheduled to start November 21 at Optus Stadium in Perth.
The Australian team will be captained by Steve Smith, stepping in for the injured Pat Cummins, out due to a lumbar bone stress injury. Travis Head serves as the vice-captain.

Key inclusions in the squad are Jake Weatherald, who may make his Test debut after impressive performances in the Sheffield Shield, edging out Matt Renshaw.
Marnus Labuschagne returns to the squad after being dropped for the West Indies series this year. Other players expected to travel in the squad include all-rounders Cameron Green and Beau Webster, and a strong bowling line-up featuring Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Scott Boland, and Nathan Lyon. Brendan Doggett and Sean Abbott are reserve bowlers.
England had already announced their Ashes squad earlier, as the Ben Stokes-led team will be aiming to resurrect themselves in the World Test Championship.
