Ashish Nehra might not be the head coach of Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2025, reports have emerged once again. The former India pacer is believed to have "unsettled some individuals' having a strong stay in the operations of the three-year-old IPL franchise.
Recents media reports suggested that Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki are likely to end their stints with the 2022 champions. Ashish Nehra's close friend and his former India teammate Yuvraj Singh is likely to replace Nehra as the new head coach of Gujarat Titans.

On Friday (August 9), Cricbuzz reported that Solanki might survive the overhaul but continuation of Nehra’s tenure as the Gujarat Titans looks less certain. "It is said that Nehra may have unsettled some individuals," the website reported. Gary Kirsten has already joined the Pakistan team as their white-ball coach.
Notably, Ashish Nehra made his presence felt in the first two seasons and was often seen walking along the boundary ropes, and passing suggestions through the match. However, the 45-year-old was not spotted that frequently by TV cameras in the IPL 2024. The report has connected Nehra's lesser visibility with the recent developments shaping up in the lead up to the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Nehra gave Gujarat Titans a whole new identity after guiding them to title win in their very first attempt in 2022. The former India pacer built the team from the scratch and persuaded Hardik Pandya to join Gujarat Titans from Mumbai Indians.
Gujarat finished as the runners-up in their second season (IPL 2023), but finished eighth in the IPL 2024. Hardik Pandya was traded back to Mumbai Indians, while experienced pace Mohammed Shami also missed the entire season due to an injury. Shubman Gill took over the captaincy as GT managed to win only five of their 14 league stage matches.
