Ashleigh Gardner’s Marriage Breakdown Takes Dramatic Turn With Public Social Media Claims
Australia vice-captain Ashleigh Gardner has become the centre of a personal controversy after her estranged wife, Monica Wright, publicly accused her of infidelity and identified Australia teammate Georgia Voll as the person allegedly involved.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, cited by The Times of India, the allegations surfaced shortly after reports emerged that Gardner and Wright had separated following the breakdown of their marriage.

Wright initially suggested that media reports surrounding the split were "too vague" before posting a photograph of Australia opener Georgia Voll on Instagram with the caption: "This is who my wife cheated on me with..."
Neither Gardner nor Voll has publicly responded to the allegations, while Cricket Australia has not commented on the claims.
Marriage reportedly ended months after wedding
Gardner and Wright were married in April 2025 in a ceremony attended by several members of Australia's women's cricket team.
According to the Daily Mail report, the relationship allegedly began to deteriorate within two months of the wedding while Gardner was in India for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup.
Citing a team source, the publication reported that teammates sensed something was "off" during the tournament, particularly after Wright travelled to India to visit Gardner. The source claimed the atmosphere around the couple appeared strained, although many initially attributed it to the pressure of the World Cup.
After returning to Sydney, Gardner allegedly had a private conversation with Wright that effectively ended the marriage. According to the report, Wright was left "shattered" after Gardner explained why things had changed during the India tour.
Couple had reportedly been planning a family
The Daily Mail further reported that the separation was especially painful because the couple had reportedly been planning to start a family and had even scheduled an appointment at a fertility clinic before separating.
The report also claimed Gardner has since moved out of the home they shared, leaving only their wedding rings behind.
Sources quoted by the publication said the separation sent shockwaves through Australia's close-knit women's cricket team, with Wright having developed strong friendships with several players over the previous five years.
Wright has also removed all photographs featuring Gardner from her Instagram account, including images from their wedding.
Cricket Australia declines comment
According to The Times of India, the Daily Mail reported that Cricket Australia was aware of the marriage breakdown. When approached for comment, Cricket Australia's senior communications chief Richard Hinds reportedly responded with a brief "no comment."
At the time of writing, neither Ashleigh Gardner nor Georgia Voll has issued a public statement addressing Wright's allegations. The claims remain allegations made on social media and have not been independently verified.
