Ashwin tags Elon Musk in his post after Pakistan journalist's bizarre take on Afghanistan's win vs Australia

India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin tagged X (formerly known as Twitter) owner Elon Musk in his post after a Pakistan journalist's bizarre take on Afghanistan's historic win over Australia in the T20 World Cup 2024 on Sunday.

The win was Afghanistan's first-ever against Australia across formats. Their thrilling 21-run win helped them stay alive in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The entire cricketing world praised Afghanistan's massive win over the mighty Australians.

However, a Pakistan journalist came up with a weird take, saying Afghanistan has the potential to beat any team except India. He said Afghanistan players underperform against India to save their IPL contracts.

"Afghanistan can beat any team in the world except India for obvious reasons. IPL contracts are very precious," the journalist wrote as millions joined Afghanistan in their memorable win.

Ravichandran Ashwin reacted to the post tagging Elon Musk, and indirectly asking him to ban such users from using the platform. "I can’t tell u what to do @elonmusk but I should certainly have the right to decide who enters my house. My timeline, my decision," he wrote on X.

Afghanistan cricket team have fast become a force to reckon with over the last years. They have been regularly challenging top teams around the world. In January they forced India to play two Super Overs in a single match. They also defeated New Zealand in the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan, spinner Noor Ahmad, pacer Naveen-ul-Haq, all-rounder Gulbadin Naib and opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz feature in the IPL, and are key members for their respective teams there. Rashid Khan has also led Gujarat Titans in a couple of matches.

Mohammad Nabi was also part of Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024. Their players play franchise cricket across the world including the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and have gained vast experience from it.
