Afghanistan have announced their squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, and they have added a familiar face in the team after years.
The Afghans will be led by Hashmatullah Shahidi in their upcoming matches. The team includes familiar names like Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran at the top of the batting order.

Additionally, there are several spin options available with players like Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Sharafuddin, and Noor Ahmad. Noor Ahmad has shown great potential in the franchise circuit and has already represented his country in three ODIs. Fazalhaq Farooqi will be leading the pace attack.
The headline component of the Afghan squad has been the return of Karim Janat to the ODI fold, who is set to make a return after an absence of six years. Najibullah Zadran has also been included after the player missed the Pakistan series with a knee injury.
Along with them, Sharafuddin Ashraf has also made a return to the Afghan team after an exile of a year.
