Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Saturday announced their 17-member squad for the Asia Cup 2023 which kicks off from August 30. Uncapped opener Tanzid Tamim has been named in the squad in the absence of veteran opener Tamim Iqbal who is out with injury.

Further, all-rounder Mahedi Hasan makes a comeback after being out of the ODI set-up since March 2021. However, veteran batter and former captain Mahmudullah continues to be out of contention along with left-arm spinner Taijul Islam. Right-hand opener Rony Talukdar, who was part of the ODI series against Afghanistan last month, has also been left out.
