Asia Cup 2023 started with the first round group stage on Wednesday (August 30) with Pakistan vs Nepal in the opener at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan, Pakistan.
Once Multan hosted the tournament opener, the action then shifted to Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka, before two more first round matches at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan, which also hosted one Super 4 match.

The Gaddafi Stadium hosted the contest between Pakistan and Bangladesh on September 6 in the opener of the Super 4 Stage, which will later be held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The venue in Colombo will also host the Asia Cup 2023 final on September 17.
In total, the R Premadasa Stadium will host six matches in Asia Cup 2023. Colombo will host India vs Pakistan, Sri Lanka vs Pakistan, India vs Sri Lanka, India vs Bangladesh, Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh and the final from September 9 to September 17.
The venue has previously hosted 145 One Day Internationals, 44 T20Is and 9 Tests so far. All the qualifying teams will play at least one match at the venue in the 50-over tournament.
The most recent ODI hosted at the venue was the third match of the three-match series between Pakistan and Afghanistan in August 2023. Before that the venue has several bilateral series every year. Here is a look the stats and record at the venue so far:
