Asia Cup 2023: India on Tuesday defended a 214-run target to beat Sri Lanka by 41 runs and qualify for the Asia Cup 2023 final to be played on Sunday.
India, the seven-time champions, had missed out on a final berth last year when the tournament was played in T20I format in the UAE ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022.

However, this year the Rohit Sharma-led contingent have been clinical in their performance and have ticked all the boxes. In the second Super 4 match, India bowlers handed their team a comprehensive win despite the team getting bundled out for 213 against Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Sri Lanka: The defending champions are currently second with two points in two matches and a NRR of -0.200. They will lock horns against Pakistan in their last Super Fours match on Thursday. The Dasun Shanaka-led side will qualify even if the match is abandoned or ends in a tie. Sri Lanka will just need to avoid a defeat against Pakistan to qualify for the Asia Cup 2023 final.
Pakistan: The two-time champions are placed third with two points in two matches and a NRR of -1.892. The equation is straight and simple for Babar Azam's side - beat Sri Lanka and qualify for the final. In case of a tie or no result, Pakistan will crash out of the tournament. Bangladesh: The Shakib Al Hasan-led contingent have lost both their Super Fours matches and have no chance to qualify for the Asia Cup 2023. All they can do is register a consolation win against India in their last match on Friday.
