India commence their Asia Cup 2023 campaign with a high-octane clash against Pakistan on Saturday (September 2). The two arch-rivals will be meeting each other at the Pallekele Stadium in Kandy.
India will play their first match of the tournament, while Pakistan have already made a winning start as they beat Nepal by 238 runs.

The Indian team have flown to Sri Lanka without KL Rahul. The Indian batter was included in the squad for Asia Cup, but India's coach Rahul Dravid confirmed that the player won't be travelling to Sri Lanka at least for the first couple of matches as he is yet to be back in complete fitness.
Pakistan, on the other hand, have a full squad available for the India tie and will be hoping to field their best eleven to slay Rohit Sharma and his men. Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed both scored impressive centuries while Shadab Khan was excellent with the ball.
