Asia Cup 2023: Virat Kohli beaten in Indian Cricket Team's Yo-Yo Test Score

The Indian Cricket Team is undergoing training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru ahead of the Asia Cup.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and the other players have been put under Yo-Yo Test ahead of the continental tournament and the former recently revealed his score on social media as well.

Yo-Yo Test is a physical test that measures the fitness level of the players and a certain mark is given based on their performance. The latest Yo-Yo Test pass score is 16.5, and a number over this cut-off mark is regarded as fit to represent the Indian cricket team.

Kohli revealed his Yo-Yo Test score to be 17.2 on social media, but a recent report from PTI suggests the Indian batting maestro is not the highest scorer in the fitness programme. According to the report, Kohli was comfortably beaten by Shubman Gill in the test as the young batter racked up a score of 18.7 in the latest physical examination.

"The Yo-Yo test being an aerobic endurance fitness test, the results could vary from when you last played and how much of workload you have gone through in the past week," a source close to BCCI told PTI.

"Gill as of now has the highest score of 18.7. Most of the players have scored between 16.5 and 18," the source further added.

It is also reported that most of the Asia Cup-bound personnel underwent the various medical tests at the NCA except five players, namely Jasprit Bumrah, Tilak Varma, KL Rahul, Prasidh Krishna and Sanju Samson (reserve player for Asia Cup).

The Indian team kickstart their Asia Cup campaign with a high-voltage encounter against Pakistan on September 2.
