The Indian team in lead up to the Asia Cup 2023 is being destroyed rather than being prepared for, Sarfaraz Nawaz who played 55 Test matches for Pakistan, has claimed.
The comment from Sarfaraz Nawaz comes as India race against time to fix their middle-order conundrum with Asia Cup and World Cup 2023 knocking at the door.

The psychological battle and war of words between the two teams have already begun ahead of the string of matches between the two teams in the next three teams. The two sides will first lock horns against each other on September 2 before very likely meeting for the second time in Asia Cup 2023.
A third meeting on September 17 will be held, in case they qualify for the final. The arch-rivals will then meet in the World Cup 2023 on October 14 in Ahmedabad.
“Pakistan has a much more settled and stable outfit for the Asia Cup and World Cup when compared to India. The Indians have still not been able to work out their final combination for these major events,” Nawaz told the media in Lahore on Friday.
"Captains are changing, many new players are being tried out, there are no proper combinations. I feel instead of developing the Indian side it is being destroyed," he added.
Nawaz also reckoned that India will be under pressure not just for being the host nation but also for not being able to win an ICC trophy since their triumph in the 2011 World Cup.
“They are always high expectations when you play at home and it creates more pressure. India’s plus point is they have some good senior performers," he added.
Further, Nawaz asserted that Pakistan left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi would emerge as the biggest match-winner for Pakistan in the Asia Cup and World Cup 2023.
“He is an extraordinary bowler and very very lethal in his first two three overs. I have rarely seen a bowler with such control over swing, seam and pace and yorkers with the new ball,” said Nawaz.
