Jasprit Bumrah suffered an injury scare as he twisted his ankle in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 Super Four game against Sri Lanka on Tuesday (September 12). He had the fans' heart in their mouth for a moment.
Defending a total of 213 runs, Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj gave India a great start. The duo sent the top order of Sri Lanka back into the dressing room inside the first eight overs. Bumrah continued from where he left off in the game against Pakistan on Monday (September 11) and picked up an early wicket.

However, in the very first over of the game, Bumrah's right foot landed awkwardly on the ground in one of his follow-throughs and his ankle seemed to have twisted a little. The Indian players looked worried and so did the fans on X, formerly known as Twitter. With the World Cup at the corner, India can't afford to lose its bowling star.
Luckily for everyone, the scare was not that big and Bumrah recovered quickly and looked on song thereafter, picking his second wicket just in the next over.
Bumrah has a history of suffering with injuries. He missed a whole lot of cricket, including T-20 World Cup 2022 and IPL 2023 because of his back injury. Last month, he made a comeback into the Indian side, when he travelled to Ireland for a T-20 bilateral series as the India captain. He had looked in great form ever since and India would definitely need his services in the coming World Cup.
Earlier on Tuesday, batting first, India were restricted to 213 runs as the Lankan spinners trapped the Indian batting order into their wave.
