Asia Cup 2023 will begin on Wednesday (August 30) with Pakistan vs Nepal in the opener at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan, Pakistan, where another venue will also play hosts to matches in the 50-over tournament.
Once Multan hosts the opener, the action will then shift to Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka, before the first of three matches at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan.

The Gaddafi Stadium will first host two group stage matches, starting with Bangladesh vs Afghanistan on September 3 before Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka on September 5 followed by a Super 4 match between A1 and B2 on September 6. All three matches will be day-night contests.
While Lahore Gaddafi Stadium will host just three matches in Asia Cup 2023, the venue has previously hosted 64 One Day Internationals, 21 T20Is and 41 Tests so far.
The home side Pakistan may play only match at the venue during the tournament. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh too will play in one match each against Afghanistan, who will play in Lahore for the first time in ODIs.
The most recent ODI hosted at the venue was between a 3-match series between Pakistan and Australia in March-April 2022. Before that the venue did not host a single match from 2015. Here is a look the stats and record at the venue so far:
