Bangladesh pacer Ebadot Hossain has been ruled out of the Asia Cup 2023 after failing to recover from a knee injury he suffered during the ODI series against Afghanistan last month. Hossain has been replaced by uncapped 20-year-old pacer Tanzim Hasan.
There is no clarity on whether Hossain will recover on time for the World Cup 2023. Tanzim Hasan has played 37 List A matches and picked 57 wickets at an average of 28.82 and an economy rate of 28.82.

Ebadot Hossain, who made his ODI debut in August last year, has played 12 matches in the format and picked 22 wickets at an average of 22.90 and an economy rate of 5.60. He also has experience of playing 20 Tests and four T20Is.
BCB Chief Sports Physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury said: "Ebadot had undergone six weeks of rehab following the injury. We have had multiple MRIs done during this time and the reports suggest that his ACL is still a concern and requires further management. Therefore, he missed out on the Asia Cup.
"Considering the importance of the Bangladesh team's next major event, which is the ICC World Cup in October, the BCB is committed to exploring every safe medical option available for getting Ebadot back to full fitness and playing as early as possible, including consultation and treatment overseas."
Tanzim, the ninth member of the Bangladesh 2020 Under-19 World Cup winning side to get into the senior side, picked nine wickets from three matches in the recently-concluded ACC Emerging Men's Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
