Breaking records and setting new highs, all-rounder Mohammed Nabi completes 5,000 international runs, thus becoming the first-ever player of Afghanistan to achieve this feat.
The meritorious moment occurred during a clash against Sri Lanka in the group stage of Asia Cup 2023 on Tuesday (September 5).

In the much-needed run chase of 292, Nabi played a pivotal part scoring 65 runs off 32 balls. This brisk knock consisted of six boundaries and five sixes, resulting in a staggering strike rate of 203.12.
With 259 international matches under his belt, Mohammad Nabi has scored 5,011 runs with an average of 24.56. His batting prowess is evident from the fact that he has scored one century and 21 fifties in 238 innings, with the highest score of 116 runs.
Whether it's a Test, ODI or T20I, Nabi has shown consistency across all formats. He holds the second-highest run scores in ODIs and T20Is for Afghanistan behind Rahmat Shah and Mohammad Shahzad, respectively.
The 38-year-old has been a fantastic servant for Afghan cricket over the years. He also represents many franchise teams across the world in T20 competitions, and has played for the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
Despite Nabi's brilliant batting, Afghanistan fell short in the Asia Cup match against Sri Lanka and crashed out of the continental tournament.
