Mohammad Siraj was the toast of the nation on Sunday (September 17) as the pacer took six wickets during India vs Sri Lanka, Asia Cup 2023 final, in Colombo. Siraj's name trended on social media, including X, while Delhi Police's hillarious tweet caught everyone's attention.
"No speed challans for #Siraj today," wrote Delhi Police in its short tweet. X, formerly Twitter, trended Mohammad Siraj's name on the top as praises poured in for the cricketer from all around the globe. We take a look at a few of such tweets for you below.

Sri Lanka were eventually bundled out for just 50 runs as Mohammed Siraj ended his spell at 6/21 while Hardik Pandya wiped out the tail with three wickets in 2.2 overs. Jasprit Bumrah took a wicket as well, in fact was the first wicket of the day as he had Kusal Perera caught behind off the very third ball of the match.
It was Mohammad Siraj show from that point onwards as the pacer took four wickets in his second over of the day while troubling the Sri Lankan top-order with early ball movement. The story could have been different if the hosts saw out the new ball in the first 10 overs but Siraj was in a class of his own as he went after Lankans in front of their home fans.
Pathum Nissanka (2), Sadeera Samarawickrama (0), Charith Asalanka (0) and Dhananjaya Da Silva (4) went back to pavillion by the end of the fourth over as Lankans were reeling at 12/5 by the end of the over.
This was maiden five-wicket haul by Mohammad Siraj in the ODI format and the 6/21 figure was also his best effort in international cricket while 4/17 is his best in the T20. His previous best in all formats combined was 5/60 against West Indies during the second Test in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.
