India clinched a record-extending eighth Asia Cup title following a 10-wicket thumping win over Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 final on Sunday (September 17) at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
After Mohammed Siraj's demolition of the Sri Lankan batting with figures of 6 for 21, openers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill made lightwork of the run chase of 51 in just 6.1 overs to seal the victory for India.

A lot of records tumbled as Sri Lanka opted to bat first in the title clash and were bundled for the lowest total in Asia Cup history - 50 All Out - which also happens to be the 10th lowest in ODI history. Apart from Siraj, Hardik Pandya (3 for 3) and Jasprit Bumrah (1 for 23) were also among the wickets for India.
After the record-breaking evening, India made a clean sweep at the awards ceremony, winning the player of the match as well as tournament awards with Siraj, the wrecker in chief and Kuldeep Yadav receiving the trophy and cheque.
Apart from individual awards, the teams, both India and Sri Lanka also took home prize money and so did the other three teams, Pakistan and Bangladesh as the third and fourth sides in the Super Four stage respectively. Here is a look at Asia Cup 2023 prize money:
India, the champions, were awarded a trophy and also a cheque of USD 150,000 which on conversion is equal to Rs 1.25 Crore approximately in Indian currency. The cash prize is a little lower compared to last edition for the champions.
