After two days of rain-marred cricket against Pakistan in the Super Fours round of the Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo, India registered a thumping 228-run win to climb on top of the four-team table.
India batted for 24.1 overs on Sunday before rain forced officials to call off the match and activate the reserve day. On Monday, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul started from where they left and scored an unbeaten hundred each to help India post 356/2 - their joint-highest score against Pakistan in an ODI match.

India took only 32 overs to wrap up Pakistan innings at 128 but the extremely humid conditions in Colombo drained out the energies of the Indian team players.
KL Rahul and Virat Kohli were seen gasping for breath towards the end of their innings. Kohli fielded with utmost intensity during the Pakistan batting innings, while Rahul kept the wickets after taking the responsibility from Ishan Kishan before the start of the 7th over.
An exhausted Virat Kohli, who was adjudged Man of the Match, requested Sanjay Manjrekar to keep the interview with him short before admitting that he was turning 35 in November and needed to take care of his body.
Notably, India have a match on Tuesday, September 12 as well. They lock horns against Sri Lanka in their crucial second Super Fours match at the same venue.
After reaching the team hotel, the Indian team players including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma jumped into the swimming pool to have a fun-filled recovery session. In a video post by the BCCI the two players could be seen enjoying themselves in the pool. Ravindra Jadeja and Shubman Gill can also be seen in a video. A happy Rohit Sharma was even spotted dancing in the pool.
Considering the short turnaround time, India could make a few changes to avoid any injury ahead of the World Cup 2023. The player will have just 12-13 hours of break before returning to the R Premadasa Stadium again.
