Asian Games 2023: India men's and women's cricket team Coaching Staff announced - Check Out the Complete List

VVS Laxman, the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru will team up with Hrishikesh Kanitkar as the head coaches for India's men's and women's cricket teams respectively for the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

Both men's and women's teams are participating in the Asian Games as the Indian cricket team look to conquer the continent in the five-day-long affair, albeit coming in different time period for the women's and men's team respectively.

Both teams will commence their journey from the quarter-final stage. As per the latest calendar, the Indian men's team will play their quarter-final on October 3 and the semi-finals on October 5. The final is booked for October 7.

Conversely, the Indian women's team is slated for their quarter-final face-off on September 21, with a potential semi-final on September 23, and the final on September 25.

Sairaj Bahutule and Munish Bali will take the helm as the bowling and fielding coaches for the men, whereas the women's team will receive guidance from Rajib Dutta and Subhadeep Ghosh for their bowling and fielding respectively.

Laxman, previously too, has filled the shoes of head coach during men's tours when Rahul Dravid was rested. He was recently seen in action during the T20I series in Ireland. On the other hand, Kanitkar helmed the home T20I series against Australia and the T20 World Cup earlier this year.

India Captains for Asian Games

The men's squad at the Asian Games will be captained by Ruturaj Gaikwad while the main squad gets ready for the World Cup starting October 5. The women's team will initially be led by Smriti Mandhana and in the event India reaches the semi-finals, Harmanpreet Kaur will resume her captaincy duties after serving a two-match ban.
